News broke earlier this week that Warren Buffett is finally passing on the reins and it’s both magical to see someone not only live but also work into their mid-90s which is another testament to the human we’re dealing with here. And while the “Oracle of Omaha” announced retirement, those that know him can agree he’ll never actually retire and the wheels keep spinning.

Going back to the early days, who could have ever imagined a simple dude from Omaha, Nebraska with an interest/vision in business and finance during his childhood would lead to being one of the most prolific and revered investors of all time. Yet here we are many years later.

What’s most impressive is while going on that magic carpet ride from humble beginnings to being worth billions he has always stayed true to his roots from driving regular cars to grabbing fast food and drinking Cherry Cokes – money never impacted his personal life or behaviors.

At the same time, being frugal and finding creative ways to allocate capital to the best, most favorable risk adjusted opportunities has always been the secret sauce whether it’s taking big stakes in the market or supporting family-owned businesses that can scale into something so much bigger.

Though the internet, especially social media, is now buzzing about Warren Buffett retiring and what’s next the reality is that his legacy and core principles will always live on.

Here’s to celebrating Warren Buffett as an investment legend and being a hero to investors around the world for generations to come.
